Body Vive

Body Vive is the newest class at the Norfolk Family YMCA! Body Vive is the low impact group fitness workout that lets you choose just how hard you work. Using Vive balls, tubes and optional hand weights you’re talked step-by-step through the entire class by a skilled instructor, all while listening to uplifting and inspiring music. Best of all, you finish feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and fizzing with energy! See you in class!

When are classes held?

Classes will be Mondays/Wednesdays 5:45am and Tuesdays/Thursdays at 5:30pm. More class times coming, so stay posted! Classes are FREE for members-no sign-up required. Just show up to any class ready to have fun!

Describe a typical class

Body Vive starts with a simple warm-up in an opening Heart Fitness section and continues with a Functional Strength section before a final section of core and restorative exercises. This class includes cardio, balance and leg strength, functional strength for specific muscle groups, abdominal strenght, back care adn stretching.

What do I need to bring to class?

Bring water and a towel. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your desire to get active and have fun! Friends are highly recommended.

How fit do I need to be to do Body Vive?

First-timers do not need to be fit-just physically active and able to move freely.

How often should I do Body Vive?

We suggest taking a Body Vive class about three times a week along with other physical activities.

What type of music is used?

Body Vive is set to mainstream music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today. The music is easy to listen to and fun!
