h1.Summer 2010 Youth Dance Classes
The Norfolk Family YMCA will be having a “Mini Dance Show”, Saturday, August 21st for all students enrolled in the Summer 2010 classes. All students who enroll in Summer classes will receive a free leotard and Show T-shirt with their registration fees, in addition to class instruction. The classes we will be offering are:
Tiny Toes
This class is designed for three and four year olds. Participants will focus on the aspects of ballet and tap. This class will meet once a week for thirty minutes. This class will perform two pieces in the “Dance Show”
Thumpers
This class is designed for five and six year olds. Participants will focus on the aspects of ballet, tap and jazz. This class will meet once a week for forty minutes. This class will perform three pieces in the “Dance Show”
Dancers
This class is designed for children 7 and up. Participants will focus on the aspects of ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. This class will meet once a week for forty minutes. This class will perform four pieces in the “Dance Show”
Fall and Winter ONLY Classes
Ballet: This class is open to youth ages 6 and up who are interested learning more about ballet skills. This class will meet once a week for 30 minutes. This class will perform one piece in the “May Dance Show”
Tap: This class will focus on the fun of tap. Both classic and street tap techniques will be taught. This class will meet once a week for 30 minutes. This class wil preform two pieces in the “May Dance Show”
Free Form: This is a free form dance class in which will test a students creativity. This class will meet once a week for 30 mintues and will perform once piece in the “May Dance Show”
Jazz: This class is open to youth ages 6 and up who are interested in learning more advanced jazz skills. Class will meet once a week for 30 minutes. This class will perform one piece in the “May Dance Show”
Lyrical: This class is open to youth ages 6 and up who are interested in learning a form of motion flowing dance skills. Class will meet once a week for 30 minutes. This class will perform one piece in the “May Dance Show”
