Y Kids Club provides Before and After School Child Care at the schools. Before Care begins as early as 6 am until school begins, and After Care begins as soon as school is dismissed until 6 pm. Y Kids Club is also available from 6 am – 6 pm at the YMCA on School Out Days, Holiday Break Days, Snow Days, and Summer (Day Camp) – these days are open to anyone in grades K-6th; child does not have to regularly be attending the Y Kids Club program to participate.

Monthly Calendars are always available at each Kids Club location, the YMCA Information Center, and on this webpage. Please note the days your child comes to the Y for swimming and other activities!

In accordance to Norfolk Public Schools Scenarios, this is how Y Kids Club will operate: (Updated 8/19/20)

1. In-Person Model (All students in school building):

Y Kids Club will operate as usual for both Before & After Care, 6 am until school begins and school dismissal until 6 pm, on-site at the 5 assigned elementary schools.

2. Hybrid Model (Students will alternate days of on-site & at-home learning):

Y Kids Club will still operate as usual for both Before & After Care, 6 am until school begins and school dismissal until 6 pm, on-site at the 5 assigned elementary schools for the students attending school that day. We will try to allow a limited # of spots for All Day Care at the Y for students assigned to at-home learning, however, it is not guaranteed that we will be able to operate the program at the Y since the school-site is our priority. Daily rates will be $22/Member & $32/Non-member.

3. Remote Model (All students at-home learning):

Y Kids Club will operate All Day Care at the YMCA from 6 am to 6 pm to a max of 60 students. Priority will go to students currently enrolled in the Y Kids Club program, then, it could be extended to any student grades K-6th. Daily rates will be $22/Member & $32/Non-member. Our daily schedule will include learning time, as well as activities in the gym, indoor turf, outside, crafts, and swimming.

Note: The YMCA accepts Child Care Subsity. YMCA building provider #03334361, "Young Mens Christian Association." (Elementary schools are different provider #s, see the bottom of the page.)

The YMCA participates in the Child Care Subsidy program through DHHS

If you feel you need finanical assistance, please visit DHHS's ACCESSNebraska. Child Care assistance is available through the Child Care Subsity Program, but you must complete an online applicaiton. Since the State of NE has this program in place, the YMCA does not typically offer finanical assistance. When applying for assistance, you will need our Provider #03334361. Our provider name is “Norfolk Family YMCA.” Please request that they cover the $25 Enrollment Fee as well; DHHS will pay it one time only.

Shayla must have the Kids Club Enrollment paperwork, Immunization Records, and DHHS's Child Care Authorization before the child can start participating in Y Kids Club.

AfterShock is an after school program through Norfolk Public Schools at both the Middle School and Jr. High, so once your 4th grader is too old for Kids Club, AfterShock is a great program to keep them supervised and involved. Check out the details on our AfterShock webpage.
