Group Swim Lessons

Ages 6 months - 15 years old

6-Lesson Sessions - $45 M / $75 N

August 4-13 - T/W/Th for 2 weeks

Evening session: 5:30pm or 6:10pm

Registration Opens: July 20 (Members: 8am, Non-members: 12pm)

August 25 - September 3 - T/W/Th for 2 weeks

Evening session: 5:30pm or 6:10pm

Registration Opens: August 10 (Members: 8am, Non-members: 12pm)

Sunday Afternoons: September 13-October 18

(3:30-4:00, 4:10-4:40, 4:50-5:20/5:30 for levels 5 & 6)

Registration opens: August 31 for members, September 1 for non-members

Monday Evenings: September 14-October 19

(5:30-6:00, 6:10-6:40/6:50 for levels 5 & 6)

Registration opens: August 31 for members, September 1 for non-members

Sunday Afternoons: November 1-December 6

(3:30-4:00, 4:10-4:40, 4:50-5:20/5:30 for levels 5 & 6)

Registration opens: October 18 for members, October 19 for non-members

Monday Evenings: November 2-December 7

Online registration is unavailable; we want to ensure everyone is signing up for the correct level so lessons can run as effectively as possible.

Swim Lesson Policies

Registration Refund Policy: There will be no refunds issued after the first day of the program beginning.

Participant Membership Policy: The child must remain an active member throughout the entire session to receive the member rate. Anyone cancelling their membership before or during the session they already registered for will be charged the price difference from member to non-member.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

Private swim lessons offer one-on-one instruction for all ages and all abilities. These lessons are 30 minutes long and can be scheduled any day, for a time when the pool has available space. Following registration, an instructor will contact you within 3-10 days to schedule your lesson at a mutually agreed upon time. Lessons may be bought individually or in a group of 6 lessons.

Youth Private: 1 Lesson $25 M / $50 N

                         6 Lessons $130 M / $190 N

Adult Private: 1 Lesson $25 M / $50 N

                        6 Lessons $130 M / $190 N

YMCA policy: Non YMCA staff are not allowed to do private swim lessons paid or unpaid (exceptions for family) at the Norfolk Family YMCA.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

  • Parent/guardian is allowed on the pool deck during class.

  • Please clear the pool deck after class is completed to allow for the staff to clean.

  • All sessions will include 6 lessons. If a cancellation is needed due to inclement weather or uncontrollable circumstances we will do our best to have a make-up lesson. If this is not possible no refund will be given.
